MorphWiz is the second app to bear the Jordan Rudess name. MorphWiz is partly inspired by the Haken Continuum Fingerboard, a radically innovative and revolutionary MIDI instrument that Jordan uses on stage and in the studio with Dream Theater.

Like the Continuum, Jordan Rudess MorphWiz is a vertical grid based musical instrument that allows a whole new level of expressive control!

If youre a beginner, you’ll love experimenting with all of the presets, but if you’re a professional musician, you will soon be blown away by one of the coolest methods of controlling sound that youve ever laid hands on.

FEATURES:

• Assign audio waveforms as visual shapes to the grid and morph between them with your fingers on the grid or the accelerometer
• Advanced pitch control allows the player to round the pitch of the initial attack of any note. It also recognizes when your finger stops after a slide, and rounds your notes to the nearest diatonic pitch
• Rounding pitch on initial attack and/or after a slide
• Independent control for up to 10 simultaneous notes
• Finger Vibrato Effect (FVE) where you can achieve vibrato even when lock pitch is selected and the pitch is snapping to the grid!
• Velocity Controlled Animation (VCA) in sync with your musical performance
• Trippy full-color, animated particles, fire, and ring effects visually radiate under your fingertips and contain real time pitch information
• Choose from a wide variety of scales and chords to assign to the playing surface with easy customization
• Choose to display names of notes or intervals to help guide you
• Performance controls include octave shift, pitch lock on/off, record to delay buffer on/off, infinity delay setting on/off, and multi-function slider
• Unison detuning effect with separate pan control for that classic analog thickness

It looks good! It sounds good! Even your 2years old child will sound amazing playing with this app. Just select your preset and trip out. If you think its not worth it cause you dont have an iPad, nevermind, it works perfectly anywhere.

This App. Is amazing! You can efeel how much Love Jordan rudess put into this project! For all People who like Music this is a Must have!

This app is just magic like Dream Theaters music. When you thought Beboot is great, check this out. It will blow your mind !!!

very great app. one of the best I have. it makes much fun to play with it. you can modify the scales, and you have the possibiliy to use different vibratos per tone, if you can play that ;-) one idea for an update: user editable graphics

Must have! Spent the whole night and before closing work, bought all the other Apps. Why?!?!..., you might not be a musician if you ask that question! You have entered the twilight zone, be on this world strange things unknown, use the key unlock the door, see what your fate might have in store. Come explore your dreams creation, enter this world of imagination.(RUSH)

Ill keep this short because I tend to get long-winded: This app is AMAZING. Its by far the most powerful synth app Ive used. Jordan Rudess... I mean Cmon - the dude is a freaking synth wizard and the fact that he basically called the shots on this one guarantees it is going to perform. About the app: It has a looping ability so you can play a bass sound, and then play a synthy sound, and make some really interesting loops and sounds. It has a metronome (A must-have for any serious recordings, ensuring youre on time) I love the pitch lock and the subtle nuances that have been added like vibrato... awesome. The sounds themselves are all very usable sounds, the strings that guide you on where the notes are make sense, though theyre not always on every screen. I like that you get to actually make your own sounds as well based on existing waveforms and can really tweak the sounds in a simple manner. The only thing Im looking for, and it could be there but I just havent found it yet, is a "patch explorer". I dont like when Im making a loop, that I have to scroll through what seems to be hundreds of sounds to find one that I remember playing earlier. Thats the ONLY downside I see with this app... And its probably in there, I just havent found it yet. Otherwise, Im really looking forward to updates with this app, if Jordan comes out with new sounds or minor feature updates. Great application overall, and very much worth the 9.99 I paid for it.

Some bad moments

It Stills doesnt work on iPhone 3G Wotherspoon version 1.1.2 !

Can nothing be done to stop this Rudess person from creating and promoting apps with tricky interfaces and lousy sounds?

They removed the Recording Feature, everybody is happy which payed for it... It Is Kind of a robbery

Unlike the versions Ive seen on Youtube, my iPad version has no recording function incorporated into the program. My questions to tech support (more than one), so far, have been ignored. Therefore, you may want to keep my experience in mind before for you spend your money.

You should apologize dev and offer a refund. Your app is broken and it doesnt offer any way to record or sequence as you had been promoting around the net. Is not neither working with audiobus!!!..give me my money back, I feel robbed!!!

Cool app for sure, but it seems unstable. I dont see how a musician could rely on it. I found that on the iPad 2 in most patches it stalls, and even crashes as soon as you play 4 notes at a time.
